Message from Chair

Greetings, and welcome to the ADA20 website!

The Metropolitan Policy, Planning and Processes Committee is an active, energetic group of professionals who bring diverse perspectives and expertise to bear on metropolitan planning issues. This website is a portal into the various activities and issues in which this committee is engaged. From institutional issues to innovative finance, federal legislation to transportation modeling, and everything in between, ADA20 perspectives encompass the full gamut of metropolitan transportation issues.

Recent work on issues associated with mega-regions — those functional geographies that transcend metropolitan, state, or even national boundaries — has become a signature ADA20 initiative that includes many different disciplines. ADA20 hosts a Joint Subcommittee on Mega-regions that welcomes national and international interests from across the TRB spectrum. As is appropriate for a committee focused on metropolitan transportation planning, ADA20 reaches out to other committees in collaboration on issues like mega-regions that demand interdisciplinary strategies and cross-cutting partnerships.

You’ll find presentations from ADA20 sessions and workshops here, papers and publications, and conference proceedings. Our Strategic Plan offers a concise summary of key issues on which we’re currently working. Links to reports and research papers feature publications of particular relevance to metropolitan transportation planning.

Check us out. If this looks like a committee you’d like to be a part of please consider becoming an ADA20 Friend and get involved in our activities; or if you are a member of another committee with overlapping areas of interest, consider becoming an ADA20 Committee Liaison and help us to better align our shared agendas. Drop us a note and let us know your interests.

ADA20 relies on its Members, Friends and Liaisons to stay on top of the multitude of transportation issues facing metropolitan areas. We’d love to have you join us in this endeavor.
