Welcome to the
Metropolitan Policy, Planning, and Processes Committee of the
Transportation Research Board. The mission of our committee is to support the dynamic institutional relationships and interactive processes associated with metropolitan transportation planning and Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs). We support the critical MPO role of managing the implementation of long-range transportation plans, and we provide an objective, collaborative forum to explore all facets of plan development and implementation from the technical role to that of consensus builder. Our committee fulfills this mission by striving to anticipate future planning needs and actively fostering the kind of interdisciplinary partnerships with the Transportation Research Board and the broader transportation community that are needed to successfully address 21st century metropolitan transportation issues.
