2020-2023 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Call for Projects

The Genesee Transportation Council (GTC) and the New York State Department of Transportation-Region 4 are soliciting applications for transportation projects that sponsors would like to have considered for funding through Federal transportation programs. Projects selected to receive Federal transportation funds will be included in the 2020-2023 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).

390/490 Interchange

390/490/Lyell Avenue Interchange Project

The New York State Department of Transportation in Rochester is undertaking a highway/bridge project to upgrade the interchange where I-490, Route 390 and Lyell Avenue (Route 31) come together in the Town of Gates, Monroe County.

This project aims to improve rush hour traffic flow, while reducing congestion related accidents for the approximately 200,000 vehicles that move through the interchange on a daily basis.
